And the winner is . . .

The first annual Barrie’s Best Band Showdown closed on Thursday, November 07, 2013 to the cheers of screaming crowds as the top three winners were announced, and the runner ups were thanked and rewarded for their participation. The diversity of the music, the mix of genres, and the level of talent were all phenomenal; as was local fan support. Each band brought with them followers from far and near who danced and thrashed to the music of their favourite artists while they performed live on the stage of the The Fox, thanks to the mix provided by Darrin Peterkin of Signal Studios.

The winners of the 2013 first annual Barrie’s Best Band Showdown are . . .

Although we only had three ‘official’ prizes to give, all participants were awarded a certificate of participation, and given a small gesture of our appreciation through an offer of our services. The Barrie Food Bank was present collecting food for families in Barrie, with some supporters of Barrie’s Best Band Showdown bringing bags of contributions for their worthy cause. Corus Entertainment's B101 was there as our main sponsor, providing publicity and representatives. In addition to the food donations, the Barrie Food Bank will also be receiving a financial donation from 3B Solutions to assist them in continuing their very important work.

Success does not begin to describe this event, which originated from a desire by our 3B Solutions video production crew to create a music video for inclusion in our demo-reel. Now, as the result of some truly out of the box thinking by various members of our team, and the support of B101 and all of our sponsors, ten ‘local’ bands and solo artists from as far away as Lindsay will continue to receive exposure through our Barrie’s Best Band Showdown website, while the winning three have been given the opportunity to promote themselves onto the world stage through prizes valued at $12,500.00, $7,500.00, and $5,000.00 respectively worth of in-house promotional services, as provided by our team of internationally experienced media experts at 3B Solutions. Those prizes can be used to shoot a professional video, and photographic services, and website design and social media marketing, and graphic arts; just to name a few options.

The videos shot of each performance at the event will be edited during the next week to be posted on the Barrie’s Best Band Showdown website, where they can be viewed by fans as we proceed forward to the May 24 weekend launch of the Second Annual ‘2014’ Barrie’s Best Band Showdown. All participants from this year, except the top three winners, will be welcome to try again.

Our team at 3B Solutions would like to thank Paul, Shane, and Andre at Admiral Live for holding the event at the The Fox, 50 Dunlop Street, and also B101 for their tireless on-air promotion. We also want to show our appreciation to The Arts Music Store, at 274 Eagle Street in Newmarket, who were kind enough to provide our contestants with the use of a professional drum set, and a large number of give away prizes.

We would also like to express our gratitude to our master of ceremonies, Will Nash of B101, and our judges, Tony Perrin, Miranda Younge Fox, and Chris Evans, who took on the tough job of picking the best three bands and solo acts out of a large group of truly talented people. Last but certainly not least, we want to say thank you to Danielle Van Ness and Joey Drover who helped us at the door, and Bob Jepson who provided security for the bands and our production equipment.

Our team at 3B Solutions could not have taken on and succeeded in this event, and local talent would not be receiving this support and exposure without the help of all those listed above. We sincerely thank them for their contributions, and look forward to working with them again at the Second Annual ‘2014’ Barrie’s Best Band Showdown and in the years to come.

To the bands and solo artist, we say thank you for your efforts and your outstanding performances, and we hope to see you again next year. As you know, our crew photographed you while on stage, and if you would like the pictures please just let us know. The videos will be online soon, and we welcome you to embed them into your websites and to use them for your self-promotion.
